Ethyl N-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]glycinate is a white or off-white crystalline solid with chemical stability. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols and ketones at normal temperature, and hardly soluble in water. Use:
Ethyl N-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]glycinate is a commonly used organic synthesis intermediate. Preparation Method:
Ethyl N-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]glycinate are generally prepared by reacting benzenesulfonyl chloride with glycine ethyl ester. First, benzenesulfonyl chloride and sodium carbonate solution are reacted under alkaline conditions to form sodium methylbenzenesulfonate. Then, sodium methylbenzenesulfonate was reacted with glycine ethyl ester under alkaline conditions to give Ethyl N-[(4-methylphenyl)sulfonyl]glycinate.
